What: Huisi He Performing Arts Exhibit
When: Sat. Sept. 9 from noon to 5 p.m.
Where: The Gallery @ UT Arlington 502 S. Cooper Street, Fine Arts Building #169
Cost: free
Huisi He will perform a new work that UTA says "addresses the sociopolitical reality of surviving economically and politically as a Chinese immigrant in New York." The exhibit, organized by UTA Associate Professor Darryl Lauster, will run additional Saturdays through Oct. 7.

What: Deryl Dodd
When: Sat. Sept. 9 from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Where: Levitt Pavilion, 100 W. Abram Street
Cost: free
On the heels of his single "One Ride in Vegas," which was released last month, Deryl Dodd will take the stage at Levitt Pavilion in Arlington. "One Ride in Vegas" was the title track of Dodd's debut album from 1996, according to the artist's website.

What: Grand Opening Rush Creek Dog Park
When: Sat. Sept. 9 from 10 a.m.- 11 a.m.
Where: 1900 Valleywood
Cost: free
The seven-acre park's dedication will feature freebies for the dogs including tennis balls and commemorative bandanas, according to the City of Arlington. Note: Pets must have their animal license and current vaccination tags displayed.

What: Arlington On Tap
When: Sept. 11 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: 500 E. Division (Legal Draft)
Cost: free
Former UT Arlington president James Spaniolo, who is now director of the North Texas Commission, will discuss "Regionalism: Does It Really Float Everybody's Boat?." The talk is free, but drinks and food must be purchased.
